Greetings!
Hope this note finds you well!
I've got a little bit of fun news:
- I'm excited to say I was again nominated as the Canadian Maple Blues Female Vocalist of the Year for the 8th Annual National Mapleblues Awards! If you'd like to vote, all you need do is visit www.mapleblues.ca, click "register to vote", and take it from there..
- I landed a couple of television jingles - one for Tetley Tea (I don't sing any words, but am vocalizing in the background), and another for Tim Horton's - the ad is 2 women in a car talking about dancing lessons while some sort of samba music plays in the background..then you hear me sing.."always fresh at Tim Horton's...".
I've just heard the Tim Horton's commercial will be airing come the New Year...it's apparently got a New Year's resolution theme.
- I just finished a week of teaching "Blues in the Schools" to 40 grade 11 students - 20 band students, and 20 vocal students. Taught them a bit about the history of the blues, and then had 'em write their own blues songs! Was fun...
Other business - I've got a number of shows coming up in the next few weeks that I wanted to let you know about:
(and I know, I'm bad and should've given you more warning on this first one...)
Tonight! - Thursday, November 18, 2004, C'est What, Toronto, ON
I know it's a school night, however, my trio, Vinnick Sheppard Harte are performing at the 'new' C'est What, 67 Front Street East; the Echo Hunters from Montreal are opening!
Show starts at 9:30pm; VSH is on at 10:15pm for an hour - y'all can be home and in bed by midnight!
Saturday November 27, 2004, Massey Hall, Toronto, ON
I'll be playing bass for the Women's Blues Revue at Massey Hall in Toronto! Singers involved this year include Jackie Richardson, Sue Foley, Serena Ryder, Ndidi Onukwulu, Rita Chiarelli and Dawn Tyler Watson. I'll be singing one song to start the night off...
Please click here for more info/tickets: http://www.masseyhall.com/home.cfm
Wednesday, December 1, 2004, Tranzac Club, Toronto, ON
I'll be performing acoustically with guitarist Justin Haynes at the Tranzac from 10pm until midnight.
I'll leave y'all with that for now...hope to see you at a show.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers,
